Jorge Toledo
Jorge Toledo graduated from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela with a degree in mechanical engineering and in 1997, he moved to Florida with his wife and children to begin a role with the CITGO Lubricants division. Over the years, Jorge continued to progress in his career at CITGO and, in 2014, he became the Manager of Crude within Supply. In the fall of 2017, he was promoted to the Vice President of Supply and Marketing where he oversaw hydrocarbon supply, trade, marketing, and commerce for CITGO enterprise. Less than 2 months into his new role, Jorge flew down to Venezuela, where he and his coworkers have been unjustly detained since November of 2017. The Venezuelan government charged him and convicted him of various unfounded financial crimes, none of which were ever proven in court after years of delays. He has suffered countless human rights violations, been denied healthcare, and most of all, robbed of over 4 years of his life for no legal reason. The United States Government continues to call for his release and that of his innocent co-workers, known as the CITGO6.
